Paronychia erecta /Pink Family
Santa Rosa Co., FL
My trusty Florida Wildflowers book did not list this flower, I guess it can't have everything! I found the name on the internet, thanks to Google! This plant does have square-headed flower clusters. It was growing at Gulf Shores National Seashore. I photographed it from a boardwalk on a dune. It is very important to always use the boardwalks at the beach, they protect plants from the dangers of trampling feet.
