I hate to have to put a photo of a dead, bleeding Mole on here, but it does show a bit of the foot and pointed nose. I found this animal on the trail in a field at Samammish State Park in Seattle, it had probably been dug up by one of the many dogs we saw during our hike.
Moles are insectivores, they eat earthworms, sowbugs, snails, and even a little bit of plant material. The huge front feet are adapted for digging and pushing soil aside.
