One of the boys at science camp caught this skink during our daily Habitat Hunters activity. These reptiles are so fast I had to resort to taking this photo with the skink in a jar. Check out the long toe on the hind feet! The young of these skinks have a blue tail.
Once I told woman about seeing a skink, she asked condescendingly, "Don't you mean a skunk?!" I got a kick out of her ignorance of nature! :)
