Buttonweed
Spermacoce prostrata / Madder Family
Big Cypress Preserve, FL
Dec. 16, 2009
This was a very common roadside plant in south Florida. It could almost be mistaken for a member of the Mint Family because of its square stem. However, the shape of the flowers and the whorled leaves indicate it is in the Madder Family.
