Viola canadensis / Violet Family
April 15, 2005
Canada Violet is considered a "stemmed" violet because the flowers grow from the plant stem. The flowers of these tall violets turn purple when they age. These violets are much taller than other violets, sometimes up to a foot tall. Frozen Head has many of these violets, they bloom in April.
