Downy Agrimony
Agrimonia rostellata /Rose Family

Agrimony has small yellow flowers that become little hooked seeds. I once had a long-haired student who got a head full of the sticky, brown seeds when she got tangled up with the plant in the fall. It took quite a while to get them out of her hair! This one was blooming on the shore of Melton Hill Lake in late July. Agrimony can bloom in the woods too.
