Grooved Yellow Flax
Linum sulcatum /Flax Family
Thanks to field botanist Dan Boone (and Google) for identifying this rare plant for me!
I found this flower in a Cedar Barren area in Oak Ridge in late August 2003. It has tiny leaves along the stem. I'll try to find it again this year and get a better picture. (On return trips to the cedar barren in Aug. 2004 '05, and '06, I did not find the plant)
