When we heard the local people talk about the river crossings on the Frio River, we didn't think you actually had to drive across the river! Haven't they heard of bridges?! This photo was taken through the windshield of the car.
The water was very low (just a couple of inches) while we were there so it wasn't a problem. We saw flood gauge signs that went to 5 feet next to many creeks. We saw one flood gauge sign up in a tree about 30 feet above the ground at the River Rim Resort. I thought it was a joke, but the owner, Nancy, told me there was a flood in past years that did reach that point! The river crossings are the put-in and take-out points for the tubers.
