Cherokee Lake during the Drought of '07. The boat ramp is useless, it ends at the section in the middle of the photo, probably 100 yards from the lake. Needless to say, the marinas in the area were feeling the effects of the drought. Many old cars, sunken boats, and other long-submerged objects were seen again for the first time in decades. Our area ended 2007 more than a foot below normal rainfall.
